Raines Dental Office Tour
Advanced Technology
At the Raines Dental Office, we are dedicated to continuing education that includes the latest developments and innovations in technology. As new advancements are introduced, they are carefully researched and evaluated before integration into our practice. There is often a right time in order to ensure the best and most reliable results in everyday use. Here are some of the advanced techniques used at Raines Dental.
Digital Impressions
Digital Impressions with TRIOS® Intraoral Scanner
No more messy poor-tasting goop. Raines Dental is pleased to introduce its latest advance in digital dentistry offering patients greater comfort, more convenience, and the most accurate results.
The TRIOS® Intraoral Scanner uses state-of-the-art technology to virtually create a 3D visualization of the mouth digitally – powder-free with no mess. This true representation provides the highest quality clinical outcomes which have been proven to be better fitting than traditional impressions. Precision along with fewer retakes and adjustments means less time between appointments and the wearing of temporary teeth.
Ideal for patients of all kinds, including those with low tolerance gag reflexes, TRIOS® furthers Raines Dental’s commitment to blend art and science in the creation of beautiful healthy smiles.
Precision Dentistry
Precise LTM Soft Tissue Laser
At the Raines Dental Office, we use advanced laser technology to provide the most precise tissue sculpting. Less traumatic to the mouth than traditional methods, the procedure is gentle and more comfortable for patients. It is also less invasive, which reduces bleeding, post-operative pain, and the chance of infection as a result of treatment. There are few if any contraindications and in fact, the laser can be used near metal, bone and on patients with pacemakers.
Laser dentistry is an invaluable tool for Dr. Raines. Using the Precise LTM diode laser system, he is able to sculpt and create beautiful results safely and in less time without sacrificing patient care and comfort.
Electric Hand-pieces:
Many dentists use air-driven “hand-pieces” (the dental term for “drills”). While acceptable for many procedures, these “whiney sounding” air-powered hand pieces all have a degree of non-concentricity; they do not rotate perfectly smoothly.
For the most precise aspects of restorative procedures, we use electric hand-pieces. This results in extraordinarily precise interfaces between your tooth and your new restoration (crown, veneer, or filling). This will bring more comfort to you as well. With a more precise tool, there is less vibration and less noise.
Digital Imaging
Dr. Raines chooses carefully which and when radiographs are taken. There are many guidelines that we follow. Radiographs allow us to see everything we cannot see with our own eyes. Radiographs enable us to detect cavities in between your teeth, determine bone level, and analyze the health of your bone. We can also examine the roots and nerves of teeth, diagnose lesions such as cysts or tumors, as well as assess damage when trauma occurs.
Dental radiographs are invaluable aids in diagnosing, treating, and maintaining dental health. Exposure time for dental radiographs is extremely minimal. The Raines Dental Office utilizes Digital Imaging Technologies within the office. With digital imaging, exposure time is about 50 percent less when compared to traditional radiographs. Digital imaging can also help us retrieve valuable diagnostic information. We may be able to see cavities better.
Digital imaging allows us to store patient images and enables us to quickly and easily transfer them to specialists or insurance companies.
Digital X-Rays:
Digital X-rays offer more precision since we view the image on a computer monitor, instead of holding up a 35mm film up to the light. Digital X-rays results in 1/6th the radiation exposure to you.
You receive less radiation from digital dental x-rays than on a flight from New York to Los Angeles!
Raines Dental Office Health & Safety Protocols
