The Same Fight … Different World
Raines Dental LLC, a full service practice providing comprehensive general and cosmetic dentistry in Mullica Hill, kicks off Pink Wednesdays, a month-long effort in honor of breast cancer awareness month for the fourth year in a row. Throughout the month of October, for patients who schedule a non-preventative dental appointment on a Wednesday, Raines Dental will donate a portion of the fee to support MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper and its Pink Roses Teal Magnolias ~ an annual event that helps in the fight against breast and gynecologic cancer. The practice is also encouraging patients to share in this effort, accepting donations at the office every day of the week. Those who contribute will be recognized with a Pink Tooth and entered into a raffle supported by other local businesses.
A well-known name in the South Jersey community, the Cooper Foundation assists Cooper University Health Care in achieving its goals of improving the quality of life in our community and providing exceptional medical care and service for every patient, every day, in a patient-centered, family-focused environment. The philanthropic arm works with associations, organizations and agencies throughout the area on countless initiatives. According to the event web site, “Pink Roses & Teal Magnolias is a healing movement fueled by the strength of sisterhood and survivorship, inspiring thousands to support the fight against cancer and giving hope to survivors across the region.”
“To say this year is like no other may be an understatement. Despite all the changes and struggles we have endured, our steadfast nature to survive and move forward it clear. For those fighting cancer, this is nothing new. Supporting their resilience has become an annual tradition at Raines Dental and one that even COVID-19 will not hinder. Year in and year out, the response from patients as we add pink tooth after pink tooth to our wall is amazing,” says practice owner, Jason Raines, DDS. “The Pink & Teal committee might have said it best… ‘Cancer is relentless, and so are we.’” The 4th annual Pink Wednesdays is one of many efforts Dr. Raines has implemented or supported to help those in need. Other programs have included Access to Care as an Albert Schweitzer Fellow, Give Kids a Smile, Dentistry From the Heart and “Take Mom to the Dentist” this past May. He adds, “there is nothing more rewarding than giving back.”
